Geometric Patterns in Arab & Islamic Art

I think I did well but I think it would be appropriate to re-do my work in the future because I know what I have done wrong and what went well because I analysed my mistakes and know what I can do better because and what I need to stop doing. I think I completed my work in an effective manner I think I understand what was expected of me. I don't think I tried different ways to get to an answer which is bad because there is more than 1 way to do something. I started working during the second week because during the first week I was analysing what makes a good geometric pattern in an Arabic and Islamic culture (even though I've visited Alhambra). After I analysed and started my sketch I started thinking of ways I could improve it I made a colour palette to help me choose the colours. I choose the colours I choose because they looked good together and the colours are soothing like every other Arabic Geometric Art. I didn't choose other colours because they weren't as soothing in my opinion. I don't think I encountered any problems whilst doing it, but the lack of motivation because I began feeling uninterested because art is not my strongest subject.

Calligraphy Reflection

Calligraphy has been a great influence on Islam. China and Japan also ussuce e thisbeautiful art of communication. It had originated from the time of 7thcentury AD.It hasgone so much further than just pen and a piece of paper. They use calligraphy to createsuch a strong feeling and meaning throughout the art. They almost try to combine thelanguage, Arabic, and calligraphy to create something even more meaningful and pretty. It has been said that Calligraphy is the original part of the Islamic art. They try though tomake the Islamic art have nothing to do with religion so there is no controversy. I would like to believe that I have completed an adequate job because I'm not that good at art

  1. Omar, remember in art, there is no wrong or right; just artistic decisions that we grow and learn from. What were your other color options? Can you share them with me. Could you also post a picture of the A4 piece you first made? :)
